This file will contain tips and common questions and answers over time.

Q01. How are sorted?
A01. By default, they are sorted by "last modified" (newest to oldest, top to bottom).

Q02. Who do I contact with technical questions about this page?
A02. You can email Paul Franklin at pf101069@gmail.com (or ask me in person).

Q03. How often are letters updated?
A03. As often as they come in. Different missionaries have different schedules for sending updates.

Q04. Why not just put all missionaries in one folder?
A04. Because folders can contain more than letters (like videos). This keeps all content connected with each missionary together.

Q05. What happens to folders when we no longer support a missionary?
A05. The folder for that missionary will be removed from the list.

Q06. Why are some missionaries on the prayer sheet but not here?
A06. Some missionaries work in less friendly locations and we are sensitive to their need for anonymity.

Q07. Why is the resource sometimes not found when I try to go to the missionary list?
A07. As hard as we try to be available 24/7, we are, like all others, subject to service outages by our internet provider. (Mediacom at this time). Unfortunately their failure is beyond our control and the server will respond normally when they do their job correctly. Lately we are seeing 1 outage per month on average. To see if our internet provider is down, check this link (we recommend that you bookmark it):

Q08. How long are letters kept?
A08. Indefinitely or until we run out of space unless directly requested to remove content. We have 5 Terabytes of hard drive space so that really wont be an issue for a long time.

009. How do you pay for this without ads?
A09. This is a ministry of love both for missions and computers. God just gave me a way to put them together. Anyone interested in contributing to this overall work can make donations to support our missionaries.

Q10. Are letters available in print?
A10. We are moving away from print, CD's, DVD's, and other hard media which are costly and time consuming. Meaning all content is now online and able to be posted much faster and more efficiently to reach more people.

Updates:

Update 01/16/23. Going forward, file names will be the 2 digit year, a period, then the 2 digit month. Example: a PDF from Jan of 2023 is 23.01.pdf.

Update 02/07/23. The default layout now displays the most recently updated at the top. You can still click on "Name" to sort by location name.

Update 04/29/23. The readme.txt file was reformatted, directory font changed to "sans-serif", and underlines removed for better readability.

Update 12/21/23. All formatting in this directory, beginning in May 1 2024, will be designed to work best on a tablet or larger screen.

Update 03/04/24. Updated the theme to "dark mode" for less eye strain and sharper contrast.

Update 03/10/24. Added space between lines for readability.

Update 03/26/24. Removed the default but counterproductive Apache break lines.

Update 04/28/24. Fixed the formatting that caused sub-directories to be smaller. Now formatted for larger screens.

Update 05/17/24. Fixed "Font too large" reported issue. Centered header. Reformatted home site.

Update 07/09/24. Added a link to each folder to return to main list as requested. Side effect: See Q11.

This will change little by little as new letters are added assuming no more "all folders" changes are needed.

Update 03/02/25. Wiped and reloaded the operating system and server. All folders affected. Modified dates reset. This was needed due to a corrupted file system which was a known issue for some time but became unusable. To reduce confusion by the "Modified" column showing a date other than the date of the last posted letter, that column has been removed. This also allows better use of space for the folder names.

Update 11/06/25. Fixed background blue issue. Fixed font size for phone and tablet / desktop modes.
